‘Factory’ Actor Bribes Workers With Booze And Food

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The way to a factory worker’s heart is through his stomach.

Just ask Mitch Rouse, creator and star of Factory, Spike TV’s improv comedy series about a group of four friends who work mundane jobs at a factory in Illinois.

Rouse – best known for Strangers With Candy – first pitched Factory to execs after filming a rough pilot with the help of real factory workers.

With bribery, he and his crew were able to film inside a few factories.

He explains, “I gave one owner two bottles of Patron to shoot a scene in front of his factory, and another guy a gift certificate to an Italian restaurant to use his factory’s interior. One owner even made us cookies while we were there! They were pretty cool to us.”

For Rouse, the factory filming brought back some awful memories.

When he was in high school, he worked at a tar factory and says the boring job was enough to drive anyone nuts.

He says, “All you want to do is get through your shift and go home. I smelled like tar for days. You couldn’t pay me enough to work there again!”

Factory premieres Sunday (Jun. 29) on Spike TV.
