Horror Movie Legend Not Impressed By Bad Guys

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Scary movie villains don’t impress one master of horror.

On June 26, legendary horror director John Landis is bringing terror to the small screen and directing an episode of the new NBC horror anthology series Fear Itself.

The “Master of Horror” – who freaked out audiences in the 80s with his film An American Werewolf in London and his creepy music video for Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” – isn’t thrilled with some horror movie bad guys.

He says, “I always thought Jason [Voorhees] and all those other guys were kind of lame. I never understood them. It’s like, what the fk?”

Though he thinks the concept of Freddie Krueger coming to get you in your dreams was genius in the original Nightmare on Elm Street, he says the sequels got “dumber and boring.”

Landis hopes to someday revamp the horror genre with a new creepy character that’s on par with Anthony Perkins’ murderer with Mommy issues in Psycho.

Fear Itself airs Thursdays on NBC.
