Cris Judd Relives The Boy Band Era

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Renowned dancer Cris Judd is going back to a time when boy bands ruled the Earth.

Judd – a professional choreographer and actor who was once married to Jennifer Lopez – is starring in a new film called Goyband, a comedy about an aging, washed up, 90s boy band icon who tries to revive his career by headlining at an Orthodox Jewish casino resort.

In the film, Judd plays a converted Orthodox Jewish gay guy who, along with his partner, try to teach the hasbeen boy bander some new, fresh moves.

For Judd, playing the flamboyant character was a blast, and he was even able to use his old experiences with boy bands to perfect his performance.

He explains, “I used to choreograph dances for ’Nsync and [New Kids On The Block singer] Jordan Knight, so while I was filming Goyband I was thinking, ‘Hey, this feels familiar!’ The boy band dancing, not the Orthodox Jewish gay part.”

Judd says he respected and appreciated boy bands like ’Nsync back in their heyday because they did a lot for dance.

Goyband is slated for release later this year.
