Ex ‘Idol’ Host Hungry To Get Back To TV

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Former American Idol co-host Brian Dunkleman is ready to tackle TV again.

Dunkleman – who hosted Idol’s debut season with Ryan Seacrest but left the hit show to pursue acting – wants to get back to work doing anything that pays the bills.

Since he left Idol, Dunkleman has made appearances on shows like Celebrity Fit Club: Boot Camp, Las Vegas, and Ghost Whisperer, but hasn’t landed a steady gig.

He says, “I’m definitely considering getting back to hosting, but I’ll pretty much do anything with a paycheck involved. I’ve been a starving artist for a long time, and I’m hungry!”

Although Idol may be one of the biggest shows ever, Dunkleman isn’t a fan of his old stompin’ grounds.

He doesn’t keep up with the contestants, judges, or Seacrest, and doesn’t tune in to the show much.

Says Dunkleman: “I equate American Idol to a really bad divorce. Why would you divorce someone and then spend a few nights a week with them? Plus, it’s not as good now that I’m not on it.”
