Headless Chicken Runs For President

FRUITA, Colo. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – There’s a new candidate running for President, and he’s a “head” of the competition.

The town of Fruita, Colorado, is celebrating their local hero, a chicken named Mike who lived 18 months after having his head cut off in 1945, with the 8th Annual Mike the Headless Chicken Festival, this Friday (May 16) and Saturday (May 17).

This year, the beheaded bird is bringing poultry to politics by campaigning for the White House.

Event spokesperson Ture Nycum says, “Since everyone is so undecided about their candidate, Mike’s gonna run. His campaign motto is, ‘It’s a no brainer.’”

Nycum believes the decapitated clucker has a good shot at the presidency and would make a fine Head of State.

He explains, “His perseverance makes him a candidate that cares about the common people. I think Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton should watch out.”
