80’s Prom Is A Funky Flashback

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – They don’t make proms like they used to.

The Awesome 80s Prom is an interactive show held every Saturday at New York’s Webster Hall that invites guests to moonwalk to 80s jams by Cyndi Lauper and Wham! while wearing outrageous 80s garb.

The show also features actors representing 80s prom movie stereotypes – including the “Bad Boy,” “The Cheerleader,” and “The Asian Exchange Student” – made famous in movies like Pretty in Pink.

Creator Ken Davenport says, “There’s virginity, voting, graduation – our youth culminates with the prom. And the 80s never go out of style.”

You don’t have to be a child of the 80s to enjoy the show – but it definitely helps.

Davenport says, “We have girls celebrating their sweet 16 parties, and they love it. And we have tons of bachelorette parties, where girls regress back to high school – they flirt with the quarterback or dance with the bad boy.”
