National High Five Day Is A Hit

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One handy holiday is a hit with all ages.

Tomorrow (Apr. 17) is the 6th Annual National High Five Day, a holiday co-created by Greg Harrell-Edge while he and his buddies were “totally hammered” one night at the University of Virginia.

Although over the years people have come up with elaborate variations on the traditional five-fingered hand slap, Harrell- Edge says its best to keep things basic, especially with strangers.

He says, “The best thing is to walk down the street with your hand up in the air. It gives people enough time to figure out if you’re crazy or not, and they usually go with it.”

While the holiday is a hit with college kids, this year Harrell-Edge received a letter from a retirement home in Pennsylvania asking how to best celebrate High Five Day.

His advice is simple, and can be used by people of any age.

He says, “Get your hands lotioned up and overdo it! Don’t just do 75 percent, take it to the max!”
