Radical Cheerleaders Rah-Rah For Change

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A group of cheering activists are putting the pep into politics.

The NYC Radical Cheerleaders are an activist group that trades picket signs for pom-poms, creating protest cheers to support social and political change.

The squad takes a powerful pro-choice, anti-war stance, as well as supporting transgender equality and a healthy body image, made clear in the “Riot Don’t Diet” cheer, which goes, Hey Girl/ Get yer face out of that magazine/ You are more than a beauty machine.

Shouting slogans is serious for squad star Cherry Bomb, who says, “We try to educate people with our cheers. Our words seem flippant, but we research the issues.”

But with nicknames like “Radikelly Kapowski” and “Suzie B. Anarchy,” the radical rebels aren’t strictly serious when they shake things up.

Cherry Bomb says, “We’re fun, our supporters love us. And the opposition doesn’t know what to think of us.”
