Realtors Cook Up New Tricks To Sell Homes

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – With the uncertain housing market, realtors are cooking up some “quacky” new tricks to sell homes.

Karen Schaefer is the founder of Simple Appeal, a Colorado- based staging and design company who says the old trick of baking cookies to entice potential buyers leaves house hunters with a bad taste in their mouths.

She says, “Everyone knows that trick. People have gotten smarter, and realtors need to learn new tricks.”

Intead, Schaefer suggest savvy sellers put a basket of fresh lavender buy the door, or cook a pot roast and set the table to create a warm, family ambience.

And to give buyers a truly unforgettable impression, Schaefer has one “quacky” suggestion.

She encourages sellers to try fun tricks like filling the bathtub with rubber duckies, or putting a rubber chicken in a drawer, which leaves home hunters laughing and more likely to buy.
