‘Destination Truth’ Host Researches Respectfully

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Searching for creepy creatures overseas has one TV adventurer proceeding with caution.

Josh Gates is the host of Sci-Fi’s globetrotting investigative series, Destination Truth, in which he travels the map in search of answers to some of the world’s most notorious unexplained mysteries, including sea monsters, giant anacondas, and the Yeti.

According to Gates, searching for truth overseas takes some serious tact and respect for ancient cultures.

In a recent adventure, Gates and his team traveled into the mountains of Nepal in search of evidence of the Yeti, but the local monks weren’t too happy with Gates’ high-tech visit.

He explains, “They were freaked out by the camera crew’s massive equipment invading their space. Luckily we were able to figure things out and they allowed us to film inside their monastery.”

Gates believes that the reason the monks were so guarded is because the Yeti has become similar to a “religious icon” for them, which often happens with culturally significant creatures.

Gates says, “We must be mindful of customs and respectful of what we are researching at all times. It’s hard doing a show overseas!”

Season two of Destination Truth premieres March 5 on Sci-Fi.
