Chowing On Burgers Takes Brainpower

CLEARFIELD, Pa. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Finishing an enormous burger takes more than just an awesome appetite.

Denny’s Beer Barrel Pub in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, is serving up 15-pound jumbo burgers called “Belly Busters” for feasting folks hoping to earn their spot on the burger joint’s hall of fame.

According to owner Denny Liegey, scarfing down his huge hamburger takes more than a huge appetite.

He explains, “A lot of people think they can eat the burger, but once they get their eyes on it, they psych themselves out. It’s all mental, and sometimes people get sick.”

Though no one has been able to scarf down the Belly Buster just yet, Liegey says eaters – especially ladies – have better success with their smaller burgers.

Liegey says, “The best eaters of the two to six-pound burgers are the ladies. One girl, who weighed about 90 pounds, brought a book and ate with one hand and read with the other like it was nothing.”

And for a truly hungry crowd, Liegey offers his 130-pound burger, which was awarded a Guiness World Record this past January.
