The band known for their 90s hit Cumbersome is releasing a new album, Day&NightDriving tomorrow (Feb. 19), and frontman Jason Ross says the smash single is a thing of the past mostly.
The new album, according to Ross, is less focused on being loud and aggressive and deals with the tough decisions involved with following your dreams and still caring for your family.
Ross, who has two children, says, Were not the glassy-eyed 22-year-olds who think a trip to L.A. means youll be a rockstar. Its not our first rodeo.
But that doesnt mean Ross wont bring up the past to appease the audience.
Ross says, You owe it to your fans to play the songs they want to hear. Im cool with 5,000 people at a show singing along to Cumbersome. Maybe they like it because it rocks, or it triggers a high school memory. Ill take whichever.
