‘The Real Hustle’ Scams People Straight

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A trickster trio on a new TV show is taking a cheating chomp out of The Big Apple.

The Real Hustle follows an actress, a pickpocket, and a magician as they show how easily people can be scammed on the streets.

The plotting program shows sleight-of-hand specialist Ryan Oakes and his pickpocketing partners conning people out of cash, cameras, cars, and even juking a jewelry store owner out of $20,000 in merchandise.

Oakes is convinced that promising quick cash is the way to anyone’s heart – and wallet.

Oakes says, “‘People are always looking to make a quick buck or save a few bucks. There’s nothing we did on the show that criminals don’t do every day.”

But if you think you’re cooler than any con, Oakes says even the most streetwise city slickers can fall for a fast one.

He says, “People in New York City have this attitude like ‘It’s not going to happen to me,’ but it’s easier than you think.”

The Real Hustle premieres Tuesday (Jan. 22) on truTV.
