Tomorrow (Jan. 5), fans of The King are hitting the slopes at Mt. Rose Ski Resort in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, for the 13th Annual Elvis Day.
The special day on the slopes celebrates Elvis birthday (Jan. 8), and has skiers and employees including instructors, bartenders, and rental workers donning their Elvis best as they maneuver down the mountain.
Spokesperson Mike Pierce says, Its a goofy, fun day, but its also a spectacle. Everybody loves wearing the glasses and sideburns. All the employees dress up and get into it. Everybodys an Elvis impersonator that day.
And while Pierce credits Elvis as the real creator of the snowy celebration, hell be getting fat and festive to go on the downward slope and pay his rockin respects.
Pierce says, Oh yeah, Ill be dressed up. My favorite is the latter period Elvis, a little bit heavy and very sweaty.
