‘Dukes of Hazzard’ Actor Still Rides The General Lee

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Original “Duke” John Schneider has some hot wheels, but his car still doesn’t impress his kids.

Schneider – best known as Bo Duke from the original Dukes of Hazzard – owns the infamous red General Lee car used in chases, stunts, and jumps on the show, and says although his wheels are legendary, his kids aren’t begging him for rides to school in it.

Schneider says, “If I tried to pick up my 13-year-old daughter from school in the General Lee she’d go ‘Dad! Oh my God, what are you doing!’ But my 15-year-old son kind of likes it.”

But Schneider doesn’t cruise around much in the General Lee – unless he’s doing something sweet for his kids.

He says, “I’ll take the kids to get donuts in it once in a while. But that thing only gets four miles to the gallon, so it’s not very good for everyday driving.”

And while Schneider loves his classic wheels, he’s not opposed to parting with the General – if the price is right.

In a few months Schneider will put the car up for auction and hopes a serious buyer will express interest.

He adds, “Last time I put the car on Ebay it went for $10 million and then the buyer backed out. This time I’m looking to make a successful sale.”
