No Sex Needed For Acting Success

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Two acting gurus have the perfect recipe for a successful acting career – and sleeping your way to an Oscar isn’t anywhere in the plan.

Mari Lyn Henry and Lynne Rogers, authors of How to Be a Working Actor: The Insider’s Guide to Finding Jobs in Theatre, Film, and Television (Watson-Guptill), say that a successful career in Hollywood takes hard work, discipline, and cold, hard cash.

Henry says, “You can’t just pack a suitcase and head west with $100 in your pocket. It’s not the ideal way to start, even if it’s the way Brad [Pitt] and Charlize [Theron] did it.”

According to Henry and Rogers, Hollywood hopefuls often expect too much too soon, and there is one desperate, sexy act that won’t get them ahead in the business.

Henry says, “If people think having sex with a director will get them a job, they’re terribly mistaken.”

Rogers adds, “There’s always someone that wants to leap over barriers, but we [the actor’s union] put them in their place.”
