Mannheim Steamroller Gives Santa A Run For His Money

SPOKANE, Wash. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – This Christmas, Santa Claus isn’t the only one spreading supersized holiday cheer.

Mannheim Steamroller is a long-running instrumental rock group that plays Christmas classics, and this year, they’re busting out all the Santa stops for their spectacular series of shows.

In addition to the concerts, which feature a choir and live orchestra at each stop, the extravagant performances include a full- scale Christmas village and the largest electric model train in America.

Chip Davis, the band’s founder, says, “It’s eye candy for little kids. But it also turns parents back into kids too.”

And while the tour steamrolls through the country with two buses, 11 semi-trucks, an airplane, and a 150-person crew to put it all together, Davis says once Christmas comes to a close, he’s looking forward to hiding under the tree.

Davis says, “It definitely takes a toll. It takes a while to get your head around a normal life again.”

Davis and company will be steamrolling onto Live with Regis and Kelly on Tuesday (Dec. 11). For more info, check out
