Rockettes Make Dancing Dreams Come True

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Forget Dancing With The Stars – this holiday season, one dancing show is using its history and its height to get a leg up on the competition.

For the first time in its 75-year history, The Radio City Christmas Spectacular is being broadcast on TV, December 1 on NBC, and producer Don Hewitt, who attended the original performance back in 1933, says the long-legged ladies in the Rockettes stand high above the competition.

Hewitt says, “Everyone else is tinsel around the Rockettes. They’re Americana. You talk about Dancing With The Stars – that’s exactly what this has been for 75 years!”

And for Rockette Kelly King, dancing in the historical high- stepping show is a childhood dream come true.

King says, “I remember seeing the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and wanting to be a Rockette so badly. I knew from the first moment I saw them.”

But off-stage, don’t expect any high-kicking hijinks from King.

She says, “When I go out, that’s my personal time.”
