Scarecrow Festival Gets Scary

ATLANTA (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One scarecrow festival is scaring people with much more than straw.

The October Scarecrow Festival is underway in Atlanta, and the freaky festival includes 76 different scarecrows – the most creative of which will win its maker two plane tickets to anywhere in the United States.

Along with traditional scarecrows, event spokesperson Geri Laufer says the festival is boasting a wrought iron scarecrow, a scarecrow made out of flowerpots, and even a carnivorous plant scarecrow that looks like it belongs in the Little Shop of Horrors.

Says Laufer: “The carnivorous plant scarecrow scares some people, and no one dares to feed it.”

Along with the scarecrow spectacle, the festival also hosts a weekly Fest-of-Ale, where folks can sip on eight different beers and check out the scarecrows in the dark, as long as they keep their drunk paws to themselves.
