Israeli Rock Band Kicks Out Kosher Jams

ZE’ELIM, Israel (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One band of Israeli rockers are living the rockstar life – with a few kosher clauses.

Rockfour is a Tel Aviv-based rock band who regularly plays to packed crowds in Israel, but they may face an interesting challenge on their upcoming tour of the States.

Bassist Marc Lazare says, “We all keep kosher. To us it’s not something we think about. It’s not like we can’t drink water – we manage.”

And while it’s easy to keep their backstage milk and meat separate, the religious rockers have another kosher clause that may affect their stateside shows.

In accordance with Jewish law, Rockfour doesn’t hit the stage on the Sabbath, and it’s a decision they all sing a similar tune about.

Lazare says, “We try not to play on Friday nights. We’ve had many offers, but there are five more days. Saturdays and Thursdays work great.”
