The Wheels On The Bus Go Rock Rock Rock

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – With a few nursery rhymes and an amp cranked up, one children’s book author is putting the punk into preschool.

Punk Farm on Tour (Alfred A. Knopf) is a kick-ass kid’s book that chronicles a group of animal rockers on tour from Maine to Colorado, and author Jarrett J. Krosoczka says the barn-burning band gets kids pumped while teaching a loud livestock lesson.

Krosoczka says, “I love reading it at schools. I have the kids meditate and find their inner farm animals, and then get them to pump their fists in the air and shout ‘round and round’ from the ‘Wheels on the Bus’ song.”

When the animals’ tour van breaks down, Krosoczka’s mooing and milking musicians persevere and provide a musical moral, but Krosoczka says the pastoral punkers in the next Punk Farm series have some hard hay ahead of them.

Krosoczka can’t reveal too many details, but says, “Pig’s ego starts to boil up, and things blow up in a bigger way. There’s a lot at stake. VH-1 Behind The Music definitely helped fuel the characters.”
