Presidential Parody Deflates Celine Dion’s Tune

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The writer of a new campaign song for Hillary Clinton is singing a trash-talking tune about the candidate’s current campaign ditty.

The song, “Hillary, O! Hillary,” is a parody of the Groucho Marx tune “Lydia, the Tattooed Lady,” and songwriter Bobbie Shaffner says that compared to Clinton’s current campaign song – Celine Dion’s “You and I” – the updated old- timey tune packs a presidential punch.

Shaffner – who penned the parody with her husband – says, “The Celine Dion song is sentimental drivel. Hillary needs something with a little more bite.”

The new campaign classic includes lines like, Chelsea and Hil and a fellow named Bill are a family we’ve grown to know / Now she is the star, on her own she’ll go far, and right now, she is the show,” and Shaffner hopes her cabaret classic will get into the presidential palms she only briefly held.

Shaffner met Hillary at a women’s forum in Philadelphia, but wasn’t able to talk tunes, because she says, “Everything went so fast, I shook her hand but she went by so quickly.”
