‘Springer’ Security Gets Get Power

CHICAGO, Ill. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – You’re used to watching women fight on The Jerry Springer Show, but now women will be breaking up the brawls.

For its 17th season, The Jerry Springer Show is getting a modern makeover with three new security guards who are putting a feminine touch on the show’s trash-talking tradition of flying fists.

Mimi Madrigal is part of the Springer squad, but as one of Chicago’s finest, the city chick is more into handing out headlocks than beauty pointers.

Madrigal says, “We’ve had a couple people say ‘What’s the deal with female security guards?’ But they realize we’re just as tough as the guys. I have three brothers. I’ve fought with them all my life.”

To get prepped for the gig, she and her gritty girls got takedown tips from Jerry Springer’s former head of security Steve Wilkos, and according to Madrigal, the bald badass taught them well.

She says, “Steve showed us how to handle things. But as a team, we could definitely take him!”

The Jerry Springer Show swings onto screen today (Sept. 17).
