Rapper Brings Hip Hop To Birthdays

ATLANTA (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Finally, people that are sick of the restaurant version of “Happy Birthday,” have something to sing about.

MySpace musician, “The Messen Jah,” has created a rap version of the traditional song, called “Happy Birthday Today,” and the rapper, whose real name is Steward Dondi Clinton, feels everyone will love his new version, “unless you’re against celebrating your birthday.”

Clinton says, “Stevie Wonder kind of created a new birthday song, and so did 50 Cent, and I wanted to create my own that will reach across all cultures.”

The 29-year-old artist hopes to one day be able to record with rap all-stars like Nas, Jay Z, and P.O.D., but for now, he’s just working on getting his music out there.

Clinton says, “Mainstream is what you make it. You have to create a demand for your music.”
