‘The Closer’ Star Gets Real-Life Police Training

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The Closer star Corey Reynolds used to be a police officer, but now he plays one on TV.

Reynolds – best known for his role on The Terminal with Tom Hanks – says being a real-life security officer was just the ticket that helped him land his gig as a TV cop on The Closer.

Turns out, before Reynolds was solving criminal cases alongside the sassy Kyra Sedgwick, he was working as a private security officer and following procedure to a T.

Says Reynolds: “I was good at following the rules. I even got an ‘Officer Of The Year’ award from my department, which was a proud moment for me.”

But while Reynolds loved his stint as an officer of the law, he admits playing a cop on TV is just as exciting.

He explains, “We get all the best police toys and technology to play with. It’s also cool because we follow procedure on the show just like real cops, and we work hard to do justice to the profession.”

And Reynolds’ efforts are paying off with cops, since he’s been complimented on his police portrayals several times.

Reynolds adds, “Officers love the show because we do everything by the book, just like it’s supposed to be.”

The third season of The Closer premieres June 18.
