A Mother’s Work Is Never Done

ATLANTA, Ga. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – You’ve seen him as a “mad black woman,” but for actor Tyler Perry, life’s just fine without the dress.

Perry – best known for his cross-dressing role as “Madea” in Diary of a Mad Black Woman – is producing a new TBS sitcom called House Of Payne where he’s happy being behind the camera – and without a wig.

Says Perry: “There’s less pressure behind the lens. I can eat as many donuts as I want and not worry about makeup.”

And although Perry has experience playing the matronly role, he didn’t have to bust out his parenting skills on House Of Payne’s two young cast members.

In fact, Perry claims Payne’s young stars, Larramie Shaw and China Anne McClain, are “not Hollywood at all” and were kept on a tight leash by their parents who were constantly present on the set.

However, Perry did play papa to the youngsters whenever he felt the content in the script was a bit too mature for them.

He explains, “If there was any subject matter that needed to be reworked, I’d wait until the children were removed from the room.”

House Of Payne premieres June 6.
