Original T-Bird Wishes For A Unique ‘Grease’ Sequel

TEMECULA, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The cult classic Grease has always been popular, but one original T- Bird thinks a modern day sequel to the film is long overdue.

Barry Pearl – best know for his role as rebellious T-Bird “Doody” in Grease – hopes to reunite with his original castmembers someday, including John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John to make a new-age sequel of the classic musical.

Says Pearl: “It’s time for a sequel that’s even better than Grease 2. We should cast all the original people in it and then focus on our kids as the new generation of T-Birds and Pink Ladies. It would be great!”

Pearl’s desire for a Grease sequel has always been close to his heart, but was rekindled with the release of the Disney film, High School Musical.

He adds: “It’s so great to see the same themes of high school romance, friends, fun, and songs that were in Grease nearly 30 years ago. The bottom line is that kids still relate to musicals, maybe more than ever.”

For now, Pearl plans to bring musicals to the masses by starring in the Broadway-style production of Mermaids which opens in Temecula, California, on May 10.
