Global Marijuana March Rolls On For 10th Year

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – April 20 may be a well-known holiday for stoners, but Saturday (May 5) will have more political significance.

The 10th Annual Global Marijuana March is taking place that day and potheads in 228 cities will be meeting to protest the continued prohibition of the wacky tobacky.

Organizer Dana Beal says “The medical science is behind us. Study after study shows that marijuana is good for Alzheimers and cancer. It slows down cancer – even lung cancer.”

Beal says at some of the larger rallies like Rome and Toronto, the protesters will probably be smoking, but not so much in smaller cities like Alpine, Texas.

However, he’s hoping that the protesters put the cause before the cannabis.

As he puts it, “We don’t want the TV coverage to be of people being arrested. We’re telling folks they can come to the rallies or get stoned afterwards.”
