Has-Been Stars Get Trading Cards

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A comeback could be in the cards for some of Hollywood’s most famous has-beens – trading cards, that is.

The Upper Deck trading card company has just released a line of baseball cards that also includes autographed trading cards from the likes of Corey Feldman, Todd Bridges and Barry “Greg Brady” Williams.

Each celebrity signed a few hundred cards and they have been inserted at random into various card packs.

Some of the celebs wrote their name, but most add something extra. For instance, Williams adds Johnny Bravo to his cards, while Lou Gossett quotes his character in Officer And A Gentleman by writing May-o-naise.

Upper Deck official Gregg Kohn figures honoring his favorite celebs from the ’70s and ’80s is “better than a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame,” and hopes it becomes an annual tradition.

Fittingly, the idea for the has-been trading cards came from an actual has-been, actor Scotty Schwartz, who played “Flick” in A Christmas Story, and now runs a successful sports memorabilia store in San Fernando, California.
