UCLA Juggler Hopes To Hit 500-Foot Basketball Shot

ATLANTA (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The NCAA Basketball Tournament’s final four teams compete tomorrow, but the real shooting competition takes place today (Mar. 30).

Four lucky fans of the tournament’s top schools – UCLA, University of Florida, Georgetown University and Ohio State – will be taken aboard the Goodyear Blimp and lifted 500 feet in the air.

Then, they will have two chances to toss a regulation size basketball into a hoop 100 feet off the ground.

The winner gets the honor of holding a world record and two tickets to a sporting event where the Blimp will provide aerial coverage.

It won’t be easy, but UCLA senior Chris Smith thinks he’s up to the challenge. He currently juggles during breaks at Bruins games, and plans to use that skill to psyche out his opponents.

However, the 6-foot, 2-inch film major admits he’s worried that he’ll be the tallest competitor and that a shorter contestant might have the advantage of being a few inches closer to the basket.
