Thats the rap from Beastie Boys member Adam Yauch, who recently advised a group of high school students from Santa Cruz, California, who will be flying to India on Friday (Mar. 16) in order to meet the Dalai Lama in person.
As John-Nuri Vissell, one of the students on the class trip, puts it, We asked Adam what advice he had, and he said [the Dalai Lama] tried to tickle him when they first met.
The students also got advice from actor Richard Gere and he told them that every action the Dalai Lama does is purely spontaneous and is a service to help others grow spiritually.
Vissell and 13 other students will be filming their encounter with the Dalai Lama as part of a documentary theyre making called Project Happiness, that features people from different cultures discussing their idea of happiness.
The students will return the U.S. on April 1, but Vissell says the project has already changed him, by helping him decide to major in psychology next year.
