Staind Singer’s Solo Tour Supplies ‘The Cake, Not The Frosting’

ST. LOUIS (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Staind lead singer Aaron Lewis is currently on a solo acoustic tour and it’s a sweet deal for fans who want to hear band hits in their most basic form.

Lewis, is on tour through April 4 promoting the band’s greatest hits collection, The Singles: 1996-2006, and says it’s allowing him to return to his roots.

In his words, “When I started out 17 years ago, it was just me in the back of a coffee house with a guitar, a mic and a list of 300 songs.”

Lewis hopes his fans enjoy hearing Staind tunes without guitar solos. As he puts it, “I’m just an average guitar player, so [I’m singing] the guts of the song...the soul of the song. It’s the cake, not the frosting.”

But while Lewis is enjoying the tour, he jokes that the other members of Staind are getting the best part of the deal because, “they get the time off after an 18-month world tour.”

Lewis and the other Staind members will reconvene in May to start work on their next studio album.
