David McCallum Driven To Play A Car

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – NCIS cast member David McCallum is driven to act – even if it means playing a car.

McCallum – who plays Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard on NCIS – is also providing the voice for an automobile named, aptly, “CAR,” on the Disney Channel animated series, The Replacements.

It’s a fun job for McCallum, who admits that he’s driven cars on screen before but never played one.

Like many actors, he’s devised a back story for the car character and jokes, “His father was an Aston Martin, and his mom was a silver DeLorean.”

So far, he’s enjoying the gig and hopes his grandchildren enjoy watching it when they’re a little older.

However, he was proud when the series was on TV recently and his two-year-old grandson noticed his voice and said, “Granddaddy’s in the car.”

The Replacements airs Saturday nights on Disney Channel and Saturday mornings on ABC.
