Bronze Hawaii: Elvis Presley Statue To Be Erected In Honolulu

HONOLULU (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Elvis Presley made a film called Blue Hawaii but come July, he’ll be “Bronze Hawaii.”

That’s because the city of Honolulu and the TV Land cable channel have joined forces to erect a bronze statue of the King right in front of the Neal S. Blaisdell Center, the site of his 1973 Aloha From Hawaii concert.

The life-size statue will be unveiled in July to honor the 30th anniversary of Presley’s death.

TV Land has helped erect similar statues of Mary Tyler Moore in Minneapolis; Andy Griffith in Raleigh, North Carolina; and Bob Newhart in Chicago.
