Michael Irvin Receiving New Chance To Play Football

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Former Dallas Cowboys receiver and current ESPN analyst Michael Irvin is happy to receiving a new chance to play football.

Irvin is one of the pro athletes taking a swing at Pros Vs. Joes, where regular guys compete against former greats.

He’s happy to do it because he loves football more than any other sport but doesn’t get to play it as much as he’d like. As he puts it, “I play a lot of pick-up basketball because it’s hard to find a pick-up football game.”

Irvin not only relishes the game, he relishes the chance to show guys who “feel they could have made it if they just had a break” what it really takes to succeed.

Says Irvin: “Football is played upstairs. A lot is about the technique of the game.”

But while Irvin says there are no “slouch guys” among this season’s Joes he enjoys reminding them, “This is me removed 5 or 6 years from the game. It’s just a glimpse of what I was.

Pros Vs. Joes will debut January 25 on Spike TV.
