Katie Couric’s ‘Today’ Farewell: Top TiVo Moment

ALVISO, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Katie Couric may have left The Today Show for the CBS Evening News but her final broadcast at NBC has left its mark.

According to a new survey by TiVo, Couric’s farewell broadcast on Today was the year’s most memorable TV moment, followed by Mel Gibson’s interview with Diane Sawyer after his DWI arrest.

The third most memorable TV moment was the Oprah episode where she tells author James Frey that he betrayed readers by claiming his fictional novel was a memoir and the CSI episode where Sara and Grissom finally get together.

Finally, the No. 5 most memorable TV moment of 2006 was Faith Hill’s reaction of extreme shock to Carrie Underwood’s win at this year’s CMA Awards.
