‘LazyTown’ Creator Makes Staffers Work – And Work Out

LONDON (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – If you want to work on the Nickelodeon series LazyTown, you’d better be prepared to work out.

That’s the edict issued by series creator and star Magnus Scheving, who says he made sure the studio in Reykjavik, Iceland, where the show is filmed, has a gym for all employees.

Scheving – who plays “Sportacus” – also makes sure to keep the folks who edit the show and do special effects on their feet despite their sedentary jobs by having them do 100 push-ups each day.

Finding time to do that can be tough so he allows them to spread out the push-ups over an 8-hour day.

All of the exercise has paid off. LazyTown is seen in 105 countries and replaced Baywatch as the most popular show in the world.

The show’s newest episode debuts December 15 and concerns a scary snow monster who frightens kids from exercising. Scheving claims the episode is the most expensive ever filmed.
