Man Uses Elves To Protect The Environment

SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Santa’s elves are busy enough getting ready for Christmas but one San Diego man is using them to protect the environment.

Michael McClure is the creator of adoptachristmastree.com, a service that uses elves to deliver live Christmas trees.

The elves show up at a doorstep with a tree and sing a song about the care and feeding before making the customer sign a vow to protect it.

McClure came up with the idea after noticing the environmental harm caused by cutting down live Christmas trees and taking them thousands of miles for sale.

He’s so bothered by waste that he’s even been known to leave the country during Christmas so he doesn’t have to see it.”

Now, he’s staying and hoping to change things – at least in his hometown – by using elves to deliver live trees that have been locally grown.

McClure hopes to franchise the idea to other cities but admits he has to find a steady group of elves first.

He’s holding auditions this Friday (Nov. 10) and says, as this point, he doesn’t “care how tall they are – as long as they have the mutated pointy ears.”
