Barenaked Ladies Looking For Air Guitaring Fans

TORONTO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The rock band Barenaked Ladies are looking for a few good air guitarists for their latest video.

The band has just released its new single, “Wind It Up,” and wants the upcoming video to showcase fans playing air guitar to the tune by posting their performance on

The most intense renditions will be used in the final video and singer Steven Page says passion is more important than precision – up to a point.

In his words, “There are some people who don’t understand that the part of the guitar near the tuning pegs sounds low, while the part up near the pickups sounds high.”

He suggests folks unsure of their air guitar ability practice by holding a tennis racket, baseball bat or fly swatter.

Page says the contest came about because many fans at Barenaked Ladies shows air guitar during favorite songs.

He admits: “We love it because it’s totally unconscious and they’re not trying to impress their neighbor or the band.”
