More Americans Know Names Of Seven Dwarfs Than Supreme Court Justices

DULLES, Va. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Here’s proof that Americans are dopey: A higher percentage of them know that Dopey is one of the seven dwarfs than know that Clarence Thomas is one of the 12 Supreme Court Justices.

That’s one of the sad statistics from a new survey for the online reality show Gold Rush.

It seems 77 percent of Americans can name at least two dwarfs but only 24 percent can name two Supreme Court Justices.

Other signs of American ignorance....

  • 60 percent of Americans know who Homer Simpson is but only 21 percent can name a poem by the Greek poet Homer.

  • 73 percent can name all Three Stooges but only 42 percent know all three branches of government.

  • Finally, 60 percent of Americans know that Superman came from the fictional planet Krypton – but only 37 percent are aware that Mercury is the closest planet to the sun.
