Tailgaters Also In Training

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – NFL players are currently training for the upcoming season – and so are their tailgating fans.

That’s the word from Stephen Linn, author of The Ultimate Tailgater’s Travel Guide (Rutledge Hill).

He says that 51 million Americans tailgate during the football season and many of them use preseason games to prepare for the fall season.

Instead of running laps or lifting weights, these fans are running to grocery stores for supplies and cleaning off their grills.

Linn says two groups of Washington Redskins fans – the “Hogs” and “Hoggettes” – are using this weekend’s scrimmage to work out the kinks in their grills, try out new recipes and make sure they have every item on their checklist.

As he puts it, “If you forget to bring a cork screw, you’ll be teased about it the rest of your life.”
