Jamie Whyte, a former professor of philosophy at Cambridge University, thinks that incidents like the one in which Bush uses the s-word to a nodding PM only add fuel to the criticism of Blair as a Washington pushover.
In Whytes words, Many people on the left who helped elect Blair have come to see him not as our [Bill] Clinton, but a clone of George W. Bush.
Some Brits arent thrilled at Blair and Bushs cozy relationshipm, but Whyte says there are some benefits at least where humor is concerned.
Says Whyte: Political satire was at a real low right after Blair was elected, but [these developments] have caused a resurgence in making fun of the prime minister.
