Allyson who filmed her first Depend commercial in 1984 died Saturday (July 8) from pulmonary respiratory failure and acute bronchitis. She was 88.
In honor of her work promoting urinary incontinence, Kimberly- Clark the parent company of Depend established the June Allyson Foundation back in 1998 to research the problem.
Allyson was thrilled by the honor and says she became the public face of elderly incontinence after helping her mother through a bedwetting problem.
Although the actress had to deal with giggles of others sometimes since the ads for adult diapers first appeared, Allyson was proud of her work and appreciated it when people thanked for taking a stand on such a leaky issue.
Kimberly-Clark is honoring Allysons memory by donating $25,000 to the Foundation.
