The 2006 Summer Redneck Games Are More Fun Than Cow Tippin’

EAST DUBLIN, Ga. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Daisy Duke shorts, overalls, crushed beer cans, and mullets are actually in style one weekend each year – in East Dublin, Georgia, anyway.

East Dublin is the site of the Annual Summer Redneck Games, which marks its 11th year starting Friday (July 7).

The games officially begin when “L’Bow,” a local redneck celebrity and Redneck Games mascot, carries the ceremonial propane torch into the park and lights the big ol’ grill for the BBQ.

Event organizer Matt McDavis says competition is fierce this year. Roughly 10,000 attendees of the Redneck Games will compete in events like “Bobbin’ For Pigs Feet.”

That’s where you sink your teeth into Porky’s chops in hopes of beating last year’s record of 8 pigs feet in 30 seconds.

Other events include the “Hubcap Hurl,” the “Mudpit Belly Flop,” and the “Armpit Serenade” – which, as McDavis explains, “Kids usually win because they have no armpit hair.”
