Ultimate Fighting Championship Keeps It Real

LAS VEGAS (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The Ultimate Fighting Championship is still fighting a stigma that it’s as fake as TV Wrestling.

But it’s up to the challenge, according to UFC president Dana White.

As he puts it, “The sport has changed so much in the last five years. People love UFC because it is real and raw and we don’t mess around.”

White is hoping to up the action ante on July 8 with UFC 61: Bitter Rivals, a pay-per-view event which will be held live from Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

Not surprised the sport is attracting new fans all the time, White puts it this way: “The fights are some of the most exciting events to watch – the action keeps you excited and on the edge of your seat. No fake drama, no fake moves, just real fighting.”

Meanwhile, the fourth season of The Ultimate Fighter will debut in August on Spike TV – and White’s ecstatic about the growing popularity of the show because to him, it’s an indicator the sport’s “going to be around for a while.”
