Saddam’s Trial Blog Exposes Ex-Dictator’s Love Of Whoopee Cushions

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – At one time, Saddam Hussein was possibly the most evil leader on the planet but, these days, he’s just another blogger on the web.

The difference is: he’s on trial for the political murders of millions.

That’s the scenario behind The Saddam Dump: Saddam Hussein’s Trial Blog (National Lampoon Press), a new book put together by veteran National Lampoon writers Scott Rubin and MoDMan.

The book features web logs supposedly written by Hussein that poke fun at the deposed despot’s controversial, some say farcical, trial that is currently in its eighth month in a Baghdad courtroom.

All of the heckling, name-calling, judicial changes and Hussein’s unusual mood swings are addressed in rants such as “Why I Invade My Neighbors,” and “A Kurd Judge Is A Pig Judge.”

But the blog’s humor doesn’t leave America off the humor hook, either. One of the fake Saddam blogs offers this stinging defense: Imagine how many people George W. Bush would have to kill to stay in power [35 years].

The Saddam Dump plops onto bookshelves June 27.
