KT Tunstall Blown Away By Whirlwind

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Singer songwriter KT Tunstall is going through a whirlwind of publicity thanks to her hit “Black Horse And The Cherry Tree” and admits she still doesn’t know how to react to it.

As she puts it, “I do feel as if I’m in the middle of a whirlwind and it’s been very important to experience this journey with friends, not anonymous session musicians.”

Tunstall credits the steady rise of “Black Horse” in part to American Idol runner up Katherine McPhee, who performed the song twice this season.

In her words, “It’s had a profound effect on people. When a song is performed on [Idol], the perception is that it’s famous.”

As a result, Tunstall – who was attracting 200 people to her shows early in her debut U.S. tour – is now seeing ten times that amount at concerts.

Still, she doesn’t know how much effect the song will have on her career because, she admits, “right now, [any success] is all just on paper.”
