Lunch Hour Now Less Than 30 Minutes For Most Americans

CHICAGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The 60-minute lunch hour has disappeared for most Americans.

According to a survey by KFC, 90 percent of Americans have to eat their lunch in less than an hour.

About 38 percent take between 30 and 59 minutes for their meal while 43 percent are lucky if they get a whole half hour. An additional 8 percent have to wolf their meal down in less than 15 minutes.

Despite the lack of a full lunch hour, 22 percent of workers manage to eat lunch at a restaurant but 58 percent are stuck eating at their desk.

Finally, 29 percent try to eat AND do errands on their lunch hour, while 27 percent shop online and check their e-mail while eating.
