Girl Authority Spices Up Alt-Rockers’ Tour

BOSTON (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – There’s nine of them, they’ve got a No. 1 record and they’re not even 15.

The group is called Girl Authority, and they’re an all- tween, all-gal singing group featuring nine different singers with nine distinct personalities, including nicknames like “Country Girl,” “Fashion Girl,” and “Preppy Girl,” among others.

Their ages range from 8 to 14, but that hasn’t stopped them from winning grown up fans that include members of the Dresden Dolls, an alternative rock band with whom the mini-divas recently toured.

Jess – aka “Boho Girl” – is age 12, and says singing with the female-fronted Dresden Dolls was a highlight of her group’s young career, adding: “When we sang [Joan Jett’s] ‘I Love Rock and Roll’ with them it really helped our confidence.”

Jess says that while she began performing at age 5, Girl Authority is her “first professional job,” though she doesn’t see a Boho Girl solo project on the horizon just yet.

In her words, “We’re all getting along so well and having so much fun, I don’t see that happening at this point.”
