Little Literary Giant Takes On President Bush

REDM0ND, Wash. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Eight-year-old Adora Svitak isn’t old enough to vote for President Bush but that isn’t stopping her from criticizing him.

Svitak is the author of a new novel, Yank In Disguise (Action Publishing), a thinly veiled allegory that criticizes “Dubya’s” policies in Iraq and on the environment.

Considering her age, it’s advanced stuff but as the third grade novelist puts it, “I watch a lot of news and [Bush’s] policies just seem so silly to me.”

She adds: “I think how they crossed out scientists warnings about global warming and put ’maybe there’s global warming’ in their reports is just ridiculous.”

Yang in Disguise is Svitak’s second book and first foray into fiction. Her first was a volume of essays and writing tips geared to kids and she plans to release a collection of poetry, as well.
